🚨INTERIORS UNWELL: Cherry Hills Edition
The One I Actually Have to Fix. 🫣

For the first time in Interiors Unwell history, I get to do more than comment from the sidelines.
I get to help this room find its next chapter.

1. The marble.
 Floor. Fireplace. Floor again.
ALL OF IT SHINING AT ONCE.
There appears to have been a strict design directive that every surface capable of reflecting light must do so.
Â
2. The gold trim.
Every wall panel has apparently been outlined so nobody accidentally forgets where the walls are.
3. The chandelier.
It has arrived from a different building and is refusing to leave.
 4. The white leather sofas.
 Not one. Not two.
A diplomatic summit of white leather seating.
 5. The tiny little table stranded in the middle of that enormous floor.
That poor thing looks like it has been sent out to negotiate peace.

What’s actually exciting about this room
Beneath the layers of marble, gold trim, reflective finishes, oversized lighting, and furniture that isn’t quite working with the scale, the architecture itself is extraordinary.
The room has height, symmetry, natural light, strong sightlines, and a sense of occasion. Those are things you cannot manufacture easily.
My job isn’t to strip away everything that gives the room character. It’s to create hierarchy, calm the competition between materials, and let the architecture become the star again.
Somewhere beneath all this enthusiasm is an absolutely beautiful room.

This is going to be a trilogy, so stay tuned:
Part 1 — Look What I Inherited: The existing room and what immediately caught my eye.
Part 2 — The Redesign Strategy: What stays, what goes, what gets quieter, and why.
Part 3 — Interiors Well Again: The finished transformation.
