🚨INTERIORS UNWELL:
The Indoor Balcony

Every time I see one of these random indoor balconies overlooking the living room, I immediately think : “Bring me Bella Swan.”
Â

I genuinely cannot look at these without picturing a vampire council dramatically judging everyone entering the house from above.....OR 1780 s aristocrat preparing to deny the villagers grain for winter.
But from a design perspective… I’ve never fully understood them.
They’re too small to function, too exposed to feel usable, and somehow always end up becoming an awkward architectural “what do we do with this?” moment.
Every so often I see homeowners posting:
·  "How should I decorate this space?”
·   "What furniture goes here?”
·    "What is this area even for?”
And honestly… I’m not convinced there was a plan.
Some of these feel less like an intentional architectural feature and more like:
“Jim had graph paper, 18-foot ceilings, and two glasses of cabernet.”
My professional recommendation?
Not furniture.
Not decor.
A bulldozer.
